PBE is the local conduit of UNEP, the Asia Pacific Center for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) on publication dissemination on cleaner production and environmental management. It is also an active partner of the Asia Pacific Roundtable on Sustainable Consumption and Production.

PBE is among the convenors of the Philippine Pollution Prevention Roundtable. It promoted the Philippine Business Charter for Sustainable Development in 1996 which was subsequently adopted by 290 companies. It also campaigned for the adoption of the UNEP Declaration on Cleaner Production.

PBE is a member of interagency bodies such as the Philippine Ecolabelling Board, steered by the Bureau of Product Standards of the Department of Trade and Industry and the Clean and Green Foundation; the Phil. Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) – Subcommittee on Information, Education and Communication based at the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA); the Environmental Advisory Committee of the League of Cities, and the NCR – Regional Ecology Center.

PBE is the Philippine representative to the Regional Network (RN) of the WBCSD, a coalition of 175 global companies from 35 countries and 20 major industry sectors committed to the goals of sustainable development. The WBCSD Regional Network is comprised of 55 industry organizations and / or national BCSDs in developing economies, including Asia, whose membership includes some of the biggest corporate environmental leaders in their respective regions. PBE helps to link experts from the WBCSD and RN with local companies and partners. It has also collaborated with the WBCSD for the conduct of workshops and national and regional stakeholders dialogues on related topics such as trade, investment and sustainable development, corporate social responsibility, sustainability through the market, sustainable water management, sustainable mobility and sustainable livelihoods.


PBE is also considered by several civil society groups and non – government organizations as an important private sector partner for multi-sectoral advocacy campaigns and projects. It maintains formal membership in groups like the Partnership for Clean Air (PCA), the Clean Air Initiative – Asia, the Regional Advisory Council of the Foundation for the Phil. Environment and the Philippine Earth Day Network.

PBE is the private sector partner of the Ateneo de Manila University / University of San Francisco for the establishment of the Graduate Program in Environmental Management in 2002.
